"Buy 1 Get a 100"
Now, before you start screaming and calling me a sell out let me say 2 words:
DON'T BUY ANYTHING! (3 words actually)
Exaclty, you read it right! I have good albums for free downloads on my blog so why bother?!...Right?!
Well, actualy you should bother. And I'll tell you exactly why in a second, let me tell you a story you might relate to first.
A few years ago (actually a long time ago), when downloading music on the net wasn't as easy as today, I used to be addicted to music... I mean REALLY addicted! I woke up in the morning thinking about hip-hop, I ate thinking 'bout the latest album I could get my hands on, never been able to go to sleep without music in my radio... I realy was into it... Back then it was about audio tapes, I had a collection of about 1000 hip-hop audio tapes, had no money so I was always borrowing and recording... I had everything and anything, I was the "go to guy" when you wanted the latest albums...
I remember the first time my dad EVER gave me pocket money I spent it in buying my 1st CD album... (I mean the 1st not stolen one, shht...don't tell anyone). That memory is still vivid in my mind... I went to buy "Vendetta" by Mic Geronimo (If you know who that is, I'd be impressed), that sh*t was bangin!
For a long period of time after that I spent most of my money on hip-hop albums. My lunch money went into albums (I used to call it music money). No wonder I was so skinny... If my mom knew that she'd kill me... all the food she cooked trying to get some flesh on my bones. But back then didn't care, I would have probably sold my own mother for Tupac's "Me Against The World" (sorry mum ;)
Fast forward. Today, I have every album I want at the tip of my mouse and I'm a download monster. But... I'm still that fan that would spend all his lunch money on an album. When I hear something I like, I want to have the ORIGINAL HARD copy (not just some downloaded file)...I want to have it in my collection, I want to put it on my shelves along with my top of the tops...
If you're like me, I'm sure you know what that feels like!
You've reading this far so I can assume your a big hip-Hop fan too.
